In writing there are many factors that
come to play when drafting an essay. The main problem with writing
essays is conveying an overall message to the readers, but of course
before this depiction one must discover what the purpose of it truly
is. The purpose of our writing is to know what we really want to know
to say and expressing it using voluminous vocabulary. In writing
essays we are always given a question (usually the purpose) and
usually hints of a specific format we should use to formulate a
thesis statement. After selecting the subject of the paper it is
important to pick a good approach, with four possibilities. Writers
can chose description, narration, exposition, and persuasion,
employing each different combination to accomplish a structural
essay. In writing different essays we can chose to pick different
methods in which to start it with where the writer can decide the
overall objective to the theme of the essay. The key to writing a
good essay is by choosing a topic you can relate to and that you
actually find interesting is the big secret in creating a structural
voluminous essay.

Open Ended Question 2
A child is supposed to enjoy their childhood with the joy and freedom with their peace of mind but many don't have the opportunity to enjoy this luxury. Marjane, as many other children in society, was exposed to the "adult world" early in her childhood with the the social conditions caused by the Islamic Revolution in Iran. This helped her realize some hardships of the real world in an environment full of wars, which in a way could have helped her develop her patriotism in hoping her country to be free and liberal instead of communistic. This helped her develop an initiative in becoming a prophet for GOD which inspired her curiosity in the war topics surrounding her. This impact of the "adult world" exposing itself to Marjane could have also harmed her as a individual because too much exposure to the real world impacted her childhood activities affecting her perspective of life as a women someday. At an early age girls were required to wear a veil because apparently too much hair exposure aroused males around them (really??) The harmful experiences she lived in a hostile environment brought her up to a point where she sought vengeance on a little boy chasing him with nails because his father was a communist who murdered "more than a thousand people." There is information that some children should not be exposed to until they truly enjoy their childhood without any hardships. Children should be exposed to the information that concerns them in their family not all the complicated information involving society. Its true children have their methods in discovering some of the things thats happening around them which we can't control and either way we can't keep both eyes on them all the time they have to independently discover the world, but to this we should maintain close attention to the media attention children nowadays are exposed to
Open Ended Question 1
Persepolis is not just an inspiring documentary of Marjane's life it describes the political, social, and economical state during the Islamic Revolution. Reading this autobiographical graphic novel allowed me to better visualize Marjane's story throughout each discovery she made in her culture and surrounding. To be honest I haven't heard much about the Islamic Revolution, so Marjane's perspective and detailed panels helped with a thorough understanding on my part. Persepolis I described Marjane's childhood til her teen years, and in her sequel I can infer that Persepolis II continues to describe the lives of everyone in a Post-Islamic-Revolution state. Her attitude would change to a more mature tone by experiencing the difficulties of the "real world" in an Iranian society. As a teenager and even as a child she just focuses on rebelling against the political regime by skipping school or by misbehaving in her classes altogether. Inferring in her maturity, the format would probably be as organized with her narratives explained through flash-points and framed narratives of her family friends.

"El Velador"
The award-winning film director Nataila Almada, demonstrates "El Velador" or The Night Watchman by focusing on the lives of the people who are caught in the crossfire that Mexico's drug lords have established throughout Mexico. Martin is a guard of the mausoleums of some of Mexico's most notorious drug lords that along with "El Velador" clean up the mess left behind by these rebellions against former President Felipe Calderon's government. This video demonstrates how hard working Mexicans and most of Latin American's are even with these problems that has practically invaded their country.Hopefully with the new elected president Enrique Peña Nieto he can change this war Mexico has been fighting with drug lords. Something that caught my attention was the fact how a widow of the man come back everyday to clean the burial site of her beloved husbands, while their children played obliviously around the cemetery on top of the burial of many deceased.Through the film the radio and the TV were constantly on to hear about the deaths of people amidst this war with the drug lords. During Hispanic Heritage Month everyone should realize how beautiful the Hispanic heritage is and how with its flaws has managed to survive many fatal battles. What really makes me happy is that a midst so much violence these families can still manage to continue on with their lives although they know that everything around them won't change until the government makes a formal stand to stop these drug lords.

EL HURACAN SANDY:'(

Hurricanes have interrupted us for the second time this year consecutively on Halloween. Last year Hurricane Irene brought minor complications to the Tri-state area while Hurricane Sandy this year has left devastating damages for the east coast including our area NY and NJ. The tragedy it left behind for the residents of Long Island, Jersey Shore, and all the towns by the east coast shore, who were doubting the feasible consequences of a hurricane of its degree are now homeless, losing everything that they've worked on their whole life. This natural disaster has brought even the elections into account of how this country needs to support each other in this time of need that affects the whole country with its complications it has proven with gas. I believe that as a community we can help those in need by donating the basic necessities that these families will now desperately need or we can help by volunteering into the groups where we can help these people overcome this setback by distracting the children and helping the adults in whatever it is they need. For the first time New York "the city that never sleeps" lost power, canceled the NY MARATHON, closed the subway system for 2 days, and just became a city devastated with power outages and grief...
